Manchester-based sound system Target Systems has a bull’s eye firmly trained on achieving success in the Dancehall Game.
The sound, a heavy bass sound system, has built up a reputation for vibesy juggling, ice cube clear sound and great selections across a wide genre of musical styles such as retro, reggae, soca and R&B.
“Target Systems is a unique sound system that has the heart of the Jamaican people at its core, which is dancehall music,” Alanso McKoy, owner of Target Systems, said.
The sound system is the resident sound at a event called Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum Target Thursdays which kicked off last week at the Zero Sports Bar , located in Spur Tree , Manchester. The event was an overwhelming success with hundreds of patrons turning out to hear the Target Systems team of DJ Al, Big Pun, DJ Blush and DJ Clayon entertain.
“Every Thursday, we will play a variety of music and different themes every week. We are presently getting a lot of requests for dates because of our expertise in playing party music,” he said.
Three years ago, McKoy founded an events management firm dubbed Target Clique along with his manager Christopher Sinclair. They successfully launched multiple events such as ‘Pretty Girls Only’ and ‘Dance Hall Nice Again’, highly successful events which were well received by patrons across the island.
Owing to the success of Target Clique events and Mr Mckoy’s love of music, the entrepreneur formed Target Systems and launched it at a Target Clique event dubbed ‘Dance Hall Nice Again’ on November 23rd 2013.
“The event was an outstanding success, and since that time, we have grown from strength to strength,” Mr. McKoy said.
