Patrick ‘Roach’ Samuels was murdered in his van this morning at the Texaco gas station at the corner of Mannings Hill road and Constant Spring Road, a tragic death that plunged the entire dancehall fraternity into darkness. BOUNCE876.com spoke to his friend and ‘brother’, Justus Arison about Roach’s death. He was 46 years old and is survived by five children.
“This is un-fucking believable. Dem just slap weh the man,” a grieving Justus said. “I just spoke to the man a couple of hours ago, he was on the road promoting the riddim, the ting ah pop off wicked inna the streets. And nothing never gwaan pon the road fi something like this happen. This is a wakeup call to all Jamaica, we caan mek the minority of a few evil people fi hold all of us the majority at hostage, dem a control we through fear. Ah same way dem kill Bogle, but it gone too far now, we ah glorify murder and violence, and we ah kill off weself when we all in this thing together. Roach ah the realest yute yu will ever meet inna your life. Him talk him mind, but him talk to yu face, ah the realest yute, him live inna truth.” Arison also called Roach “one of the frontline soldiers fi reggae music”.
