Fans of rocksteady/ reggae singer John Holt will have to wait a few more days to say goodbye to their beloved hitmaker.
Originally slated for Saturday, November 15th, the service will instead be held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Kingston on Monday, November 17, at 11:00 am.
The funeral had been initially scheduled for the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew, on Saturday, but the family changed the date.
Other plans for the funeral includes a one-hour musical tribute organised by Lloyd Parkes from the popular Lloyd Parkes and We the People Band to be held before the funeral service. Several entertainers are expected to pay homage to the late reggae singer, including Freddie McGregor, Tinga Stewart, Errol Dunkley, George Nooks, Ken Boothe, Derrick Harriott, Luciano, and Karen Smith. Holt’s son, John Holt Jr, is also expected to pay tribute with a performance. The musical tribute is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., and the thanksgiving service at 11:30 a.m.
