Who said that there are no winners in second place? Joseph Bogdanovich, CEO of Downsound Records doesn’t believe that, awarding $250,000 each to contestants Lava Vein and Ffrench who came up empty-handed when they had to settle for second place at the recent Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall finals.
“Being number two doesn’t mean you didn’t do well. We want to encourage them to continue doing the good work. We just want to show support for the youth that are coming up,” he said in a release.
The winners of the competition, Devin di Dakta and Tripple A, received $1 million each from Magnum and a smartphone from Digicel. However, the runners-up were left empty-handed.
Bogdanovich extended a bit of kindness to the second-place contestants by making a presentation to them as a form of encouragement.
