Outaroad Records artiste Kiprich has scored a major collaboration with Sony Music International artistes Magic. The collaboration, dubbed ‘My Own Holiday’ was written by Kiprich. The song also features Mark Pelli of the Magic! group which is known for the top five hit, “Rude”.
“I went to the Sony Centre to meet them during their charity event, One by One. I was excited to meet them and we hit it off, they were aware of my music and they liked my work. So Mark Pelli got in the studio, and made this amazing reggae-influenced pop track and I did the chorus and he did a feature on the verse,” he said.
“It was a really great process. In a couple of hours, Mark made the riddim, and I wrote the song in like 30 minutes, and he did some other work on the beat and the song was done. It was really exciting to work with him, just the whole process, and he was impressed by my writing and recording abilities, he even commented that I could perhaps do a whole album in a day because my brain quick quick,” Kiprich said.
The song is produced by Outaroad Records.
Magic comprises guitarist and songwriter Mark Pelli and Nasri Atweh. Their first song was a catchy fusion of reggae, pop, and R&B called “Rude, In the fall of 2013, after a tour as support act for Matisyahu, Magic! signed a deal with Sony Music International, and “Rude” became the group’s first single. The song was a Top Five hit in Australia and New Zealand, and rose to number nine in their native Canada.
