Reggae singer Vadie believes that he has found a breakthrough hit with a bouncy new single ‘From Mi Born’. The song is an inspirational ode to hard work, focus and determination in the face of overwhelming odds.
“The single is getting a lot of support from deejays all over the world, and it has been added to the playlist ofRoots FM, Radio Jamaica, Mega Jams, KLAS and a couple international internet radio stations. I’m also getting great feedback from my fans about it. This is a good look for my career,” the artiste whose real name is Vaughn White, said.
Produced by Noreen Henry Forbes, From Mi Born was released on March 12 on the 4Ds & N NuMedz Music LLC imprint.
“I have upcoming viral performances in the making via my Instagram channel. I have also established a VEVO channel to boost the promotions via social media. I am taking this to the next level,” Vadie said.
The Kingston-born singer, who is also a guitarist, is on a mission to spread love and hope throughout the world with his music.
“I grew up listening to artistes like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear and Garnet Silk. From those early days, I decided that I would use my voice to sing songs that will inspire and uplift the people,” he said.
Vadie is on a creative mission to use his talent to invoke positive messages in the hearts of men with his new single.
“The Creator has blessed me with great talent and I am using it to spread love and unity throughout the world. I don’t sing songs that encourage negativity. My music is for the people who hunger for inspiration and guidance. I’m not here to knock anyone but I wish more entertainers would sing conscious music, tackle new topics, and expand their horizons to cater to an international audience,” he said.
Vadie lists his father, Lawrence White, and Jimmy Hendrix as two of his biggest musical influences.
“My father is a veteran musician. Back in the day he worked as a studio musician and he also played in Freddie McGregor’s Studio One Band. Jimmy Hendrix is also a big influence too. I love his songs and how he played the guitar,” said Vadie.
Vadie was born and raised in Kingston. Some of his other songs are Never Lose My Meds, Elder Story and Marijuana Tree.
