“Mi a do a number of new singles that nobody has heard before for the EP. In the meantime, ‘Body Nuh Dead’ ah get a good forward overseas, ‘Body Glue’ is doing well in Costa Rica, New York and France, while ‘Friend for Life’ is also enjoying rotation on HITZ 92, ZIP and IRIE FM,” Prohgres said.
Other singles include ‘Hustler’ on the Purge riddim which also features Kartel’s hit song, ‘CT Scan’. Another song generating interest is ‘Heaven Your Ting De’.
Currently teamed with Simpac Music, also known as DJ Mudslide , the two released two tracks ‘’Body Glue’ and ‘Body Nuh Dead’ which have been generating heat on FM radio.
He has performed at various community stage shows in the parish of St. Ann. He has done work with Cahban Records, Hard Rock Records and Tropical Records.
“Right now, mi a push my music and my brand to the next level. I have a good batch of songs and I am getting some buzz on radio,” he said.
Born on November 8, 1993 as Richard Dwayne Gordon to parents Paulette Johnson and Martin Gordon, Prohgres grew up Queenhythe, a little district located in Discovery Bay St. Ann Jamaica. He has one older brother and one younger sister.
“From ever since mi know myself, ah music mi waan do. When I left school, I took a job to save money to finance my own music,” he said.
He lists Buju Banton, Damian Marley, Sean Paul, Bugle, I-octane and Agent Sasco among his influences.
“Just like Marcus Mosiah Garvey said, “Without confidence you are twice defeated in the race of life”, so be confident in all you do,” he said.
